Please help us in celebrating Mrs. Megan Lehman!  She is one of two teachers who have won the Raytheon Leaders in Education Award for the Flowing Wells School District.

Mrs. Lehman has dedicated fifteen years of her career to the Flowing Wells School District, all at Centennial Elementary.  Her career in education has been as a Reading Teacher (3 years), 3rd Grade Teacher (12 years and counting).  Over the years, Mrs. Lehman has dedicated time to sponsor Kiwanis Kids Club, Student Council Advisor, Reading Interventionist, and Yearbook Advisor.  These additional roles at Centennial benefit and  maximize opportunities available to students.

Mrs. Lehman has had the opportunity to successfully mentor new teachers, supervise students teachers, coach teachers through Balanced Literacy professional development, and has been an Instructional Coach as well.  Mrs. Lehman was recognized by her colleagues as Teacher of the Year in 2012-2013 and was named Centennial’s Legendary Teacher for 2017-2018.

It is common to see Mrs. Lehman hugging her students and giving them the most positive   comments.  She builds their self-confidence and it shows by the effort students put into their work.  In Mrs. Lehman’s class, most students show a significant growth as measured on the state assessment along with informal assessments throughout the year.  Mrs. Lehman is always available to take a phone call, help a colleague, and assist in the organization of events such as get-togethers, holiday events, and parent nights.

Words cannot express how deserving Mrs. Megan Lehman is of this award.  Her unconditional love for teaching and for her students are what make Mrs. Lehman an exemplary educational role model and the perfect candidate to receive this award.
